This coming June Volcom’s East Coast crew will embark on an epic journey from the palms of South Florida to the beautiful landscapes of the Northeast. In Volcom East Coast tradition, we will blaze a trail that includes retail events, epic surf sessions with the team riders and a bit of antics along side our favorite surf shops and party spots. This year’s “Embrace The Strange East Coast Tour” will embody the modern spirt of the brand in 19 cities with 19 of our top accounts with an emphasis on having FUN!

2013 VQS Championship Cup - Get In The Hole!

The 2013 Volcom VQS “GET IN THE HOLE!” Cup Championships presented by MUSCLE MILK, finished up on the 18th hole this past Saturday. The sun was blazing all three days, the greens were freshly trimmed with two to three foot fun, rippable, consistent fairways. After all the gopher hunting, water hazard ditching, sand traps and double bogeying par three attempts the winners were finally escorted off the green championship stage with their pockets full of shiny green cash and the prestigious “GOLD” jackets.


Opening day saw some challenging greens and treturous sand traps.

San Diego’s Taylor Clarke finished runner up the last two years. This year was different as he took home $5000 and received the ticket to Fiji to compete and represent the United States at the VQS World Championships in Fiji during the Volcom Fiji Pro.

The Volcom windmill was the toughest courses of them all.

Griffin Colapinto chips a lofty one in the early rounds of competition.

The VQS Caddy's were on point, cleaning and waxing boards, putting leashes on, and giving pre competition advice.

Noah Schweizer flew over from the East Coast and took advantage of the smaller conditions and finished out in a respectful second place.

Kalani David had another good showing this year by finishing out in third place and taking home $1000.

It wouldn't be a classic Newport event without a sailboat cruising the lineup.

Cam Richards finished off the day by winning the Greenskeepers division and taking home the Gold jacket and $1000.

Welcome To The Volcom Family Balaram!!!

Tuesday May 7th, 2013 - Costa Mesa, CA - Volcom would like to send out a big 'welcome aboard!' to New York's own, Balaram Stack. Growing up in Point Lookout, NY, he's what some consider to be the single greatest surfer to ever come from the tri-state area. Balaram has always been considered a friend of Volcom since he was a youngster competing in the VQS Jellyfish events in the New York area. He's come a long way since then and has made quite a name for himself over the years by constantly appearing in magazine's and videos, doing well in contests and absolutely charging in Hawaii. Whatever it is he's doing, Balaram shreds and we are proud to have him join the Volcom Family!

Blake Jones was just up in NC competing for WRV Virginia Beach in the Surf Shop Challenge contest.  Blake was the "double wammy" surfer for the team.  He posted and 8.60 but the team still didn't get that trip to Bali.  Bummer, but I think they still had some fun!  Check out Eastersurf.com's coverage here.
